Deaf Sports Australia AGM - Melbourne - Friday 13th to Monday 14th November
Julie Lyons and Kim O'Brien attended Deaf Sports Australia's AGM in Melbourne 13-14th November 2009. We learnt lots from Deaf Sports Australia.
The workshop covered: Insurance, Health and Being Active, Communication, Sports Award Nights, Level of Hearing Loss - Decibel (db) and the Australian Deaf Games.
The next Australian Deaf Games will be held at Geelong in 2012, the dates will hopefully be confirmed before Christmas.
After the workshop on Sunday, we went to watch Victoria Deaf Women Cricket Teams, it was a good experience for us because we have never seen a Womens Cricket Team.
We enjoyed the workshops on both days. It was great opportunity for us to meet other State Deaf Sporting organisations and National Deaf Sport Organisations.
We all agreed that we need to improve communication with other states and DSA.
