Deaf Sports Day a Huge Success!
19th June 2010 - Wow we had a great day! Thank you to their parents for bringing them to Deaf Sports Day! Most of the children came dressed in the colour of thier house team. It was great to see them getting into the spirit of the day. The volunteers from DSRQ and Gold Coast Little Athletics Club were fabulous, thank you all for your help. Without our wonderful volunteers there would be no deaf sports day. We liked the new venue at Pizzey Park on the Gold Coast. Thank you Gold Coast Little Athletics your hospitality and allowing us to use your facilities. We had about 45 children participate in DSRQ's 3rd annual Deaf Sports Day. Thanks the DSRQ team Julie, Fiona and Brad for working very hard to make the event successful. Thanks also to DSRQ's Board management for organising the BBQ.
Congratulations to Red house for winning the house shield. There were so many talented athletes. Fantastic effort by all.
Red Team won the house competition. The results are as follows:
Red - 121
Blue - 94
Green - 91
Yellow - 51
Last year Yellow Team won the shield and the year before that Green Team also won the shield. It was really good to see that each team has been so competitive. Maybe next year Blue team will win? Congratulations to all the children who participated. It was a fantastic day and ran very smoothly. We hope to see you all again next year.
