Objectives
The objects for which the association is established are -
- To promote Deaf sport, recreational and social activities for Deaf people and people with hearing impairment in Queensland in a way to enhance their self worth and quality lifestyle.
- To advocate for social justice and equity for, and encourage integration in wider society for the Deaf people and people with hearing impairment in sport, recreation and full community participation.
- To provide consultative, information and a referral service for its members and clients.
- To act as a peak body for its members with regard to recreation, social and sporting issues and to act as a liaison body with the Governments and other peak bodies for funding, policy development, legislation and industry training.
- To develop, gather and provide information regarding Deaf sport, recreation and community activities and to publish a regular newsletter for all members. It also exists to create a greater public awareness of Deaf Sports and Recreation in Queensland.
- To provide public education, training and skills enhancement to its members in areas of administration, leadership and sport and recreational skills.
- To promote Sports and Recreation for the junior through school based program and training camp.
- To organise school and state championship and assist, when required, in national sports championship.
