History
Gold Coast Deaf Club was formed in 1987. The club was run by three people. We had an informal committee members for 20 years til we decided to set up a proper committee members in 2008. The key people who have been involved in Deaf Club for the Gold Coast deaf community were Christine White and Tanya Warren. We have organised many social functions and fund raising for our club.
Naming Ceremony
The new committee members decided to set up a new Deaf Club for the deaf community who are living on the Gold Coast. We agreed that we need a new name for our club. The old name was "Gold Coast Deaf Club". We have changed to "Deaf Club Gold Coast". Our Naming Ceremony was held at Tony Townsend's residence to celebrate the new Deaf Club Gold Coast. The Naming Ceremony was conduted by deaf pastor - Janet Orr. She gave us the blessing for best of luck for our club.
