Success in the National Deaf Bowls Championships

QLD team at the last day of the National Deaf Bowls Championships

Congratulations to our Queensland Deaf Bowlers for their success in the National Deaf Bowls Championships played at Lockleys on 4th April to 9th April.

Four Queensland Men reached the 1/4 finals of the Men's Singles Championships, Barry Lynne, Ken Read, Richard Strong and Clive Flanagan. Only 1 Queenslander, Richard Strong, went into the semifinal of the Mens sinles championships and lost the event. He was beaten by a stronger oppontment but put in a fantastic effort.

The most successful was in the Ladies singles. Gail Dellar reached the final and came second.

No Queenslanders were sucessful in the Men's Pairs or Ladies.

Queensland's No1 Men's Fours Team went on to win the event undefeated, No2 team did their best and couldnt get the best wins. The ladies team also tried to have success to win, but no luck on this event which was changed to Womens Trebles due to lack of entries/numbers.

Next comming event is the Australia Deaf Games to played at Geelong in 2012. We need younger players to join our ranks for better success in the future.

Congratulations to all!
