Melbourne Cup Day
43 Deafies came for Melbourne Cup lunch, pity we didn't have fancy clothes to wear for Melbourne Cup but one member did wear a lovely hat. We had a lovely morning tea and lovely lunch. We all enjoyed the moment there until racing came on the TV. We were all excited to see if our horse would win after buying into the Melbourne Cup sweep. Some of us had winners on the sweep, we were very happy to have prizes and be there on that day.
Sydney Trip
On the 8th April 2009, 20 Deaf Seniors left Brisbane for Sydney. We were all very excited and looking forward to going on the bus which took us to Casino NSW from which we caught a train for Sydney. We all had a great time on the train but it was a sleepless night as the seats were not very comfortable to sleep on!
We arrived in Sydney in the morning and after dropping our luggage off at the motel we toured Circular Quay. We also went on a boat cruise which was not too bad.
The Big Wheel at Brisbane
About 20 Deafies turned up to meet at Southbank station on 7th October 2009, then walked to Southbank food court to have morning tea. We had a big laugh after an Ibis (bird) has flown over one of the member's head to snatch the member's morning tea food after Ibis has eyeing over her food to take her food out of her hand. and it was quite so funny to watch her scream when fly over her head, thinking it was going to be attack her. So we all put our hand covered the food to ensure that the Ibis didn't grab our food.
Trip to Australia Zoo and Parliament House
On 15th September we the members of Brisbane Deaf Senior Citizens Association, caught the bus to Australia Zoo. We left at 8am. When we got there we were all excited to be at Australia Zoo. We had a lovely morning tea there then went to the "Crocseum" to watch the action of birds flying and crocodiles. It was very good. Later we went for a walk to look at other animals around there. We had a lovely lunch then went home. It was tiring but we enjoyed the day.

After arriving in Rocky at 6.25pm, we caught the bus which had been organized to pick us up and take us to the ... motel at North Rockhampton. When we got to the motel we unpacked a few things then afterwards we had a lovely meal at the motel restaurant.
Mary Mac Community Centre

at MaryMac community centre 616 Ipswich Road Annerly.
On 2nd June as all the members were so eager to see the new place. They have been waiting to see the hall. It
