Rockhampton Trip

20-7-09 to 23-7-09

On 20th June 2009, 17 Deaf Senior Citizens caught a train at Roma St, leaving at 11am on the tilt train. We were all very excited to go on the Rocky trip.  We had good seats and it was a very comfortable trip. We all chatted and laughed. We were very happy. After arriving in Rocky at 6.25pm, we caught the bus which had been organized to pick us up and take us to the ... motel at North Rockhampton. When we got to the motel we unpacked a few things then afterwards we had a lovely meal at the motel restaurant.

The next day was Tuesday, we all went to Yippoon shopping centre and walked around and looked at the shops and saw a lovely beach. It was lovely weather. After that we went back to the motel.

On Wednesday we caught a bus into Rockhampton town centre. We went for a walk and had morning tea before going to the RSL to meet Rockhampton Deaf people there. We had a good lunch and after that went back to the motel for a rest and talked for a while.

On Thursday we all got up at 5am to catch the bus at 6am to Rockhampton station. The train left at 7.15am for Brisbane. We arrived back at Roma St station at 2.40pm. We all really enjoyed the trip!
